Chocolate Falls Arizona
Chocolate Falls Arizona, also known as Grand Falls, is a seasonal waterfall known for its chocolate-looking water. This waterfall is located just 30 miles east of Flagstaff on Navajo Nation land in the Painted Desert.
The falls are fed by the snowmelt and rain from the White mountains and flow into the Little Colorado River. Because of this, the falls are only active at a certain time of the year. The best time to see the falls is in March and April.
Before planning your trip to Chocolate Falls, check the water levels on the official USGS website. The reading should be over 200 cubic feet. If the reading is in the thousands, plan to visit within 24-48 hours.
